Rider Rules

Animals – Only trained guide and service animals assisting persons with disabilities are permitted on Pelivan Transit vehicles and must be notified during booking.  

Baby Strollers – Strollers should be folded and stowed away safely on the vehicle.  

Cell Phones – Cellular telephones are permitted to be used on Pelivan Transit vehicles. Please be considerate of other passengers by keeping your voice low and keeping conversations to a minimum.  

Shirts and shoes must be worn on the bus.

Drinking/Eating – Clear beverages are permitted, please refrain from consuming any other beverages or eating food while on board Pelivan Transit vehicles.  

Front Row Seating – Please allow our senior riders and riders with disabilities to use the first two rows of seating.

Hazardous Materials – Gasoline, car batteries, or any flammable liquids or substances are not permitted on board vehicles or inside Pelivan Transit facilities.

Any article with an offensive odor or of a spill-able nature must be contained.

Headphones – Passengers must use headphones when listening to portable electronic devices. Please keep the volume at a reasonable level to avoid disturbing your fellow riders. 

Hygiene – Passenger are encourage to maintain cleanliness, being mindfully of the confined areas of the Pelivan Transit vehicle. The combination of many odors may become offensive.

Inclement Weather – Pelivan Transit is sometimes forced to delay or discontinue service in the event of severe weather conditions. Questions about Pelivan Transit service during extreme weather conditions may be directed to the Pelivan Transit Service Center to your local dispatch office Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Lost and Found – Items found on Pelivan Transit vehicles may be turned into the vehicle operator or dropped off at the local dispatch office. To report items left on a Pelivan Transit vehicles, please contact our Headquarter Office at 855-735-4826. Pelivan Transit will make every reasonable effort to return any item to the rightful owner; perishable items are discarded the same day.   

Profanity – Please be considerate of other passengers and refrain from the use of profanity.

SEAT BELTS – Policy requires all passengers to BUCKLE-UP!!

Smoking – Smoking is not permitted on board Pelivan Transit vehicles. VAP, marijuana and dipping are NOT permitted.

Trash – Please dispose of your trash in the onboard receptacles or in trash cans provided at bus shelters and stops. Please do your part to keep our buses and our community clean.

Unruly Behavior – Disruptive and unruly behavior is not permitted at stops, facilities on board Pelivan Transit vehicles.  

Weapons – Any object that is used to threaten, injure or cause damage to a person or property may be regarded as a weapon and is therefore prohibited on board Pelivan Transit vehicles or near at any pick-up locations.

Wheelchair Lifts – All Pelivan Transit vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts to better accommodate our riders with disabilities. Our Lifts can accommodate up to 800 pounds - wheelchair and occupant combined. Wheelchairs must be secured in the area designated on Pelivan Transit vehicles and assistance will be provided by your Pelivan Transit vehicle operator.

Pelivan Transit Drivers are mandated to report non-compliant passengers and incidents to management. Passengers can be suspended if the Rider rules are violated.
